Jane was born in Manchester but spent her childhood living in Little London (Forest of Dean) before the nomadic years living both in Exeter and the north of England beforesettling in Cheltenham to begin a teaching career. She studied at Loughborough College of Art & Design in BA Textiles/Fashion, (Specialist study in Woven Printed Textiles 1981), at Liverpool Polytechnic for her PGCE in Education and at the University of the West of England for her MA Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking.The recurring themes in Jane’s current work are the patterns and textures found inlandscape and the history of land and habitation; working with print to explore thesecrets held by the land. Her process is experimental, exploring both the surfacequalities of collagraphs and the graphic shapes of cut lino. Layered and juxtaposedand asking questions. Book Arts are as important to her practice as printmaking.These allow her inquisitive nature to explore a wider range of issues and creativeideas.
